ABOUT
Our Story
A reverie is a daydream. A state of stillness between thought and feeling.
That is the essence of what we offer, and the inspiration behind our name. The Revery.
OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Our design blends the raw beauty of Crete’s natural landscape with understated luxury. Inspired by the island’s nature, history, and architectural tradition, the retreat is sculpted into the terrain using native materials like stone and wood, echoing Cretan craftsmanship while harmonizing with the land. Each structure is positioned to embrace panoramic views, allowing nature to become part of the living space. Our suites and villa are refined yet minimal, and the communal areas are designed to foster both quiet reflection and meaningful connection, mirroring the Cretan way of life, where sharing meals, stories, and moments is a cherished tradition. Our glamping pavilions, a rare offering in the Mediterranean, offer the comfort of true luxury in close proximity to nature, without the long-haul travel.

Sustainability
At The Revery we do not see sustainability as an obligation, but as a form of respect.
We are inspired by what’s wild and rare and feel responsible for protecting it. We designed our hotel to sit lightly within the untouched cove of rare beauty, and we honor the natural setting through every decision, from materials to daily operations.
Our suites and glamping pavilions follow a low-impact design philosophy, using natural ventilation, solar energy, and eco-conscious materials. The hotel’s stonework was shaped using rocks from the site. We installed water-saving systems and biological wastewater treatment to reduce waste and protect local resources. Lighting has been designed to minimize light pollution and preserve Western Crete’s starlit sky. Before development, we preserved and replanted native flora across the site; a gesture of care and regeneration. Paths follow the land’s original contours; no coastline was altered. Sustainability at The Revery also means supporting people. We’ve built modern and comfortable housing dedicated to our team in the nearby village of Livadia. We prioritize local sourcing and craftspeople, and proudly support Crete’s culinary and cultural traditions.
